Dipping my brush into my soul and creating something of beauty is what I attempt each time I paint. I enjoyed art at an early age and was inspired by my mother who painted oils and water colors. She encouraged me by saying “no one will tell you to sit down and paint. You have to take the time, you’re worth it.” I find each time I attempt to re-create on paper or porcelain a portion of the Creator’s work of art, it brings me joy.

Living in France for many years has provided a great inspiration for my watercolors. I have been greatly influenced by the beauty of provence as well as the four seasons where I live.

I have had the privilege of studying porcelain painting under Ann Cochenower, Joan Cress, Carlos Spina and MarJean; watercolors under Adabelle Hill, Tony VanHaselt, Steven Blackburn and Randall Higdon.

Art is a way of life. It’s restorative to the soul. It’s living creatively and taking the time to appreciate the beauty of creation as well as participate in the creative process. As a child I learned that only God could make a tree, yet I find great pleasure in trying to capture the essence of a tree, a landscape, a flower or fruit on paper or porcelain

I enjoy teaching as well as painting. I believe if you have the desire to create and to paint, you can do it! You just need to let your creative self come out and play. My life purpose is to be whole heartedly devoted to Jesus Christ and to live my life as a creative expression of His love to others.
